KOD

King of Diamonds

Kiss of Death

King of Destruction

King of Death

Kids on Drugs

All suspicions of what the title really implies as I process the new album J. Cole shocked fans with this week! “KOD”‘s release date, Friday 4/20/18, suggests the title has something to do with drug usage……..or……..this title K.O.D.; is a tribute to the well-known strip club “King of Diamonds”, but let’s just go ahead and rule that out!

Presently, I’m only connecting the hypothetical dots here, however the release date of 4/20 and cover art highlighting a King with kids partaking in the use of illicit substances under the cover of his cloak, and skeletons of other kids above them. I’m no rocket surgeon, so pardon me in the event that I am in fact incorrect. However, I am led to believe that KOD signifies “Kids on Drugs”. Representative to the way artist are king in the eyes of youthful fans and a large number of them take to the glorified drug culture in music today to a fault. It’s not as clear as it appears to be, but in view of the lyrics, the song titles, and the fine art on the front and back covers, what do you think Cole meant when he titled the new album KOD?
